Last week, CLSA Americas, the US subsidiary of Hong Kong-based investment bank CLSA, added two senior analysts to its research team, bringing the total number of US-based publishing equity analysts to more than twenty.
New Staff Additions
Ms. Kristine Kubacki joins CLSA Americas from Avondale Partners, where she spent over 8 years covering the global industrial equipment industry. Ms. Kubacki will provide coverage of the Machinery and Trucking Equipment sectors. Prior to her stint at Avondale, Ms. Kubacki spent almost 4 years at A.G. Kristine and Rick have established track records of producing unique research to help drive our clients’ investment process.”
Founded in 1986, CLSA is a highly regarded Hong-Kong based investment bank that employs over 150 publishing research analysts located across Asia-Pacific, Australia, Europe, and the US producing macro-economic, country, and company research.
Its fundamental company research focuses on small and mid-cap companies, covering 1,300 listed firms in 18 sectors including autos, capital goods, conglomerates, consumer, financial services, healthcare, hotels & leisure, infrastructure, insurance internet, materials, media, petrochemicals, power, property, small caps, technology, telecoms and transport.
Clearly, this latest move shows that CLSA is continuing to invest in its US equity research and trading operation, at a time when many other firms are shrinking their research businesses. The addition of Patel and Kubacki expands the firm’s coverage in the industrials and retail sectors – two key coverage areas for the company. In fact, since the beginning of the year, CLSA Americas has added three key equity analysts and a few other sales and execution traders to the US team.
