Russell Kopp is Managing Director of Whitney Correlate, a specialist Executive Search firm focused on financial sector recruiting. He co-founded Correlate Search in 2009 in Hong Kong and since has become one of Asia’s most recognized financial services search professionals. Amongst his accolades, he has been rated the #1 search executive across multiple categories in the two most recent AsiaMoney Headhunter Polls. Russell transitioned into search after 20 years in the capital markets, when he joined Whitney Group in 2007. His sellside financial services experience spans equity research, equity sales, corporate finance/ M&A, strategic planning and senior management roles. Before search, he was most recently the Head of Asian Bank Research for HSBC in HK. He has 20+ years experience in Asia, having worked in Singapore, Thailand, India and Pakistan with Barings, Kleinwort Benson and HSBC. From 1999-2003, he was an institutional salesman for Dain Rauscher Wessels, selling US tech/ biotech shares into major UK institutions. He was educated at the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota (BSB-Acctg) and Manchester Business School’s MBA program (Dip-Bus Admin).
