New York, NY – Despite feedback from buy-side investors that they intend to spend less on sell-side research in the coming year, most sell-side firms continue to invest in adding value to their equity research offerings. One such initiative released today by European investment bank, Dresdner Kleinwort, is a new Research and Analytics Portal. With the new portal, clients can get access to the research and tools that were previously accessible from five (5) different Dresdner Kleinwort client websites. The following is the full text of the Press Release on this new offering.
Dresdner Kleinwort sets new market standard amongst investment banks with launch of new Research & Analytics Portal
01 October 2007
Investment bank Dresdner Kleinwort is pleased to announce the launch of its new Research & Analytics Portal.
The portal pulls together all of Dresdner Kleinwort’s award-winning research and database analytics in a single website – which is different from its competitors in the way it seamlessly blends content across regions and asset classes.
Navigation and search functionality has also been designed as ‘best-in-breed’. The new portal aims to address clients’ needs for simplicity and ease of use with intuitive and consistent navigation throughout, coupled with a powerful ‘free text’ search engine. A ‘My Portal’ innovation allows clients to create their own customised home page in seconds.
The site incorporates all Dresdner Kleinwort research and analytics across Economics, Equities, Credit, Fixed Income, Currency and Commodities. As an example, for company research the site provides recommendations and target prices over last five years and a 10-year archive of all published research, a comprehensive range of financials, peer analysis, investment case, valuation, and SWOT analysis as well as a credit summary with full history – in a single page view, and with a simple one-word search facility.
The new site is accessed* via Dresdner Kleinwort’s new corporate website (www.dresdnerkleinwort.com) or via the link in PremierNote emails. Alternatively, clients can click on the direct links available on aggregated research platforms such as TheMarkets.com, Reuters, Thomson and Bloomberg.
Colin Jowers, Global Head of Capital Markets Research Operations at Dresdner Kleinwort comments:
“We have been beta testing the service with our most demanding clients – our trading floor staff – for the past few months, and we’ve had an overwhelmingly positive response. Usage internally is already three times that of the combined five platforms it replaces which tells its own story. The simple aim of our new portal is to enable clients and staff alike to access Dresdner Kleinwort’s award-winning research effectively, since it’s no good having great research and powerful databases if users take hours to find what they are looking for.”
“We believe we have set a new market standard by developing a service that considerably exceeds the features and benefits of competitors’ sites. In fact we are confident our new portal is so good that we can meet an aggressive target to increase the number of clients and usage by at least 500% within 12 months.”
