New York – Investorside’s Annual Independence Day Conference is set for April 6th at the Bloomberg headquarters in New York. This is the main event of the annual cycle of Investorside conferences and draws a large number of participants each year. the event is sponsored by Bloomberg and the NYSSA.
This year’s line-up of speakers and presentations is impressive, with over 20 presenters slated for the event. Featured speakers include, opening remarks by Tom Secunda-Founding Partner at Bloomberg, Morris Offit-who established the Stock Research Department at Salomon Brothers in 1969, Les Alperstein-Head of Washington Analysis, and Prakesh Mehta of Akin, Gump, Strauss & Feld-on opportunities for hedge funds and private equity in the current market and legislative environment.
There will three breakout sessions covering case studies on varied subject matter. In the afternoon there will be a presentation by Marc Siegel of FASB and Jeremy Perler, co-author of the 2010 edition of Financial Shenanigans, who will discuss the most relevant accounting topics at present. The final panel of the day will discuss issuer retaliation and other threats to independent research.
