New York, NY – The UK investment research industry lost one of its most energetic advocates and supporters as Dr Graham Nigel Field, the Founder and Managing Director of AQ Research, passed away last Thursday, July 19th, 2007.

Graham founded AQ Publications (now AQ Research) in 1998 to analyze the performance of sell-side investment research.  In the years since the firm’s inception, Graham established himself as one of the most thoughtful and insightful analysts of the research industry.

In addition, Graham developed a wide range of friends and colleagues in the industry due to his voracious appetite for information, dry wit, retentive memory, and sense of fair play.

Prior to founding AQ Research, Graham had a distinguished career in the financial media that included positions at Euromoney as Editor of both the International Tax Review and Asiamoney and at the BBC as presenter of the BBC World Service’s World Business Report.

Graham has written a number of books including Economic Growth and Political Change in Asia (1995), Japan’s Financial System: Restoration and Reform (1997); Euroland: Integrating Europe’s Capital Markets (2000) and a recent study of the National Association of Pension Funds (2003). He held a PhD from London University and an MA from Cambridge University.

Graham showed great bravery in the face of terminal cancer, and still retained an lively interest in the investment research industry and its fortunes.

Everyone who knew Graham will surely miss him.
