On Wednesday, April 7, 2004, TIAA-CREF, one of the foremost retirement systems in the U.S. for higher education and research employees, announced that Susan E. Ulick had been named head of equity investments for the company. Ulick, who formerly headed the equity research group at the company, succeeds Scott C. Evans, who was recently named Chief Investment Officer.
Ulick will oversee a broad range of activities in her new role, including active and quantitative portfolio management, research and trading. Prior to joining TIAA-CREF in 2000, Ulick was with J.P. Morgan Investment Management for 13 years and was named head of U.S. research at that company in 1995. Previously, she was with Sanford Bernstein. Ulick has a B.A. from Sarah Lawrence College and a M.A. in Economics from Columbia University.
