Washington Research Group Close to Deal

According to the New York Times, Washington Research Group (WRG), the prominent policy research firm orphaned by the demise of MF Global, is about to find a new home.  Sources indicate that Guggenheim Partners is the likely parent, although reportedly Royal Bank of Canada and Macquarie are possible contenders.  We speculated that Washington Research Group would land on its feet given its history of surviving ill-fated parents, including Drexel Burnham, Stanford Group and now MF Global.  In total, WRG has gone through nine owners, and with its new owner will have more lives than a cat.  Link to the NYT Dealbook article.
